Donna Kelce shared with Page Six why she believes Taylor Swift is the perfect match for her son, Travis Kelce.
At the premiere of the TV series Grotesquerie, which featured Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, held in New York City on September 23, Donna privately told the press that her son’s high-profile relationship with pop star Taylor Swift is “quite interesting.”
“Travis is a really good guy, very kind and generous. As far as I know, Taylor is the same,” Donna remarked, suggesting that this is why Taylor might be the perfect choice for her son. She added, “I hope they’re having a great time together.”
When asked if she was proud of her son Travis for starring in Ryan Murphy’s 10-episode series airing on FX, she responded, “Oh, it’s wonderful. Just seeing your kids do what they love is happiness. I know my son wants to try acting, so let’s see how it goes.”
The 71-year-old woman, who is also the mother of former Philadelphia Eagles football player Jason Kelce, explained that she has “always told both of my boys that if you do what you love, you will be really good at it.”
She admitted that it’s still too early to say whether 34-year-old Travis Kelce enjoys acting, but she noted that he’s “easy to direct because he’s good at sports.”
In recent years, the Kelce brothers have won a total of four Super Bowl titles and launched a highly successful podcast called New Heights.
Donna reflected on her sons’ achievements, saying, “Their careers are really taking off. I can’t believe what has happened in the last few years.”
Although Taylor Swift didn’t attend Travis’ recent game against the Atlanta Falcons on September 22 (a game in which Travis’ team beat the Falcons 22-17), she has supported him at several matches since last fall, often sitting with Donna and her husband.
